0 30 mai 2024

As part of Fierté Montréal Festival and to highlight GRIS-Montréal's upcoming 30th anniversary, GRIS's Gender Identities Committee wishes to celebrate artistic richness by showcasing the unique perspectives of artists from the gender diverse community. The exhibition “Outside the Box: Perspectives from Gender Diverse Artists” will be held from Wednesday, August 7, 2024 to Sunday, August 11, 2024, and will be inaugurated on August 7 at a vernissage where artists will be able to present their work and discuss their artistic journeys.
We invite artists to submit a work proposal if they wish to take part in the exhibition.

Types of artwork we are looking for :
- Visual artworks of all kinds (painting, sculpture, visual projection [without sound or with headphones], photography, street art, etc.).
- Live performances (dance, poetry, singing, etc.), lasting approximately 10 minutes, to take place during the vernissage evening (remuneration possible, to be discussed).

- Be an artist who identifies within the gender diverse community.
- Ideally, be available for the opening on August 7, 2024, between 5 and 8 pm.
- Wall artwork (canvases, photos) must be no more than 48 inches high.
- Artwork must be suitable for a museum. (No vegetation or living organisms. Artworks requiring a more complex installation must be pre-approved by the organizer and the museum).
- If necessary, artwork must already be framed (framing service cannot be provided).
- Submit photos of the selected artwork. If you would like to create a piece for this exhibition, please send us a few photos of your creations, along with a brief description of what you would like to create (type of work, specific exhibition requirements, brief description of subject).

The public will also be invited to vote for their favorite piece, and a prize will be awarded to the selected artist.

We encourage you to complete the entry form to submit your work for consideration.
